Back by popular demand after a successful premiere last year, (Up)rooted (Up)rising Vol 2 comes to you to bring local and underground music, art, and cultural critique in New York City to raise funds to bring the Lumad leaders (indigenous people) from the Philippines to the US to speak about militarization, environmental destruction and resistance.

Come join us as we sing, dance, shout and make art about resisting state repression and dismantling capitalism, imperialism, and patriarchy!

With performances from (ongoing updates):

Material Support - A Filipina-fronted political punk band from Queens, NY. Made up of law students and Filipino migrants who are agitated by state repression, government corruption and patriarchy.

Plastiq Passion - Made up of the enigmatic Jessica Chaos on vocals, the quiet but wise Deborrah Sanchez on lead guitar, the rather tall Christine Simon on bass, and the animal Stacey Lee on drums. Collectively they have a goal to play every single rock venue in America (and also the world) including, but not limited to, your basement. So keep a look out for these four hardcore momma-jamma’s and don’t mess with them, because they have a black-belt in bar stools.
